Back with another addition of resources that will help you better understand your digital footprint.
Portmaster - Created by Safing ICS Technologies, Portmaster is a free and open source application that allows you to monitor your network activity on your computer. The software can block ads and malware, secure your DNS requests, and block apps of your choice. Though it is free, they also have paid options that give your move features, such as an SPN (which is supposed to be better than a VPN). It is available for Windows and Linux users.
Whonix - Whonix is a free and open source application that claims it will give you maximum anonymity and security. How it works is that it handles all your activities in a virtual machine and forces them through the Tor network. Some features include enabling a firewall and protecting your IP address. It’s available for Windows, Linux, MacOS, and other operating systems.
Webbkoll - Developed by dataskydd.net, Webbkoll is an open source tool that allows you to see what data-protection measures a website has enabled. All you have to do is enter the site in the check box, and it will then spit out the results it finds.
