The Privacy Cloud: A Look Back at 2024 and What's To Come in 2025
It's been a good year
Hello everyone👋🏾. As the title suggests, today's newsletter will be discussing how 2024 treated me and what’s to come in 2025.
2024 was a big year for me!
Originally, I started this newsletter in July 2023 as an extension of my blog and to improve my writing skills. When that was no longer working for me, I sat down and tried to figure out what I wanted to do with this newsletter. That's when I settled on the idea of using it to spread information about privacy. For several years now, I have been gaining information for myself on how to protect my digital privacy. I figured a newsletter will be a great way to continue gaining this information and share it with others, as many don't understand how little privacy they have when online. Thus, The Privacy Cloud was born. With 45 posts created, almost 50 subscribers, and 1 recommendation, I achieved a lot more than I expected! Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way!
What's left for 2024?
There will be one more newsletter to round out the year, which will be the monthly news roundup, and it will be released on December 31st. Posts for 2025 will start on January 15th.
What's new for 2025?
Recently, I have been considering ways on how I could monetize content that I create for The Privacy Cloud. I am hoping if I can monetize this newsletter in some way, I can gain the opportunity to make some money for it along the way.
However, I am not interested in using Substack paid subscriptions, as I don't want to put content behind a paywall. While it works for many newsletter writers, that is not what I want to pursue as it doesn't align with my goals at this time. That's why I have decided to look at donations instead. This allows me to monetize the newsletter without having to put anything behind a paywall. It also gives you the choice, so you don’t have to donate if you're unable to or prefer not to. I am still researching as to what platform will work best for, but the goal is to have it up and ready no later than January 31st. Otherwise, nothing will change as to what you will be able to access.
